My server seems to hold onto my clients when they drop out due to local internet interruptions. I'm currently using CrossUO when it happens. Any thoughts or experience with this issue? Thanks.
 
NetStates will time-out after a period of inactivity, usually 90 seconds after the last packet was transported.

TCP sockets don't gracefully disconnect in circumstances where the connection is interrupted and the shutdown request can't be received; the next possible chance to detect a connection loss is when data is attempted to be transported and the underlying socket fails to process it.

UO has a periodic ping protocol that acts as a "keep alive" when logged-in.
 
Understood. and thanks for your reply. My problem seems to last longer than 90 seconds. The server also doesn't allow me to log back in. when i then SSH the server it goes from a frozen state to spamming the screen with everything its done in the last 5-10 minutes.
 
Is your server console running on a windows o/s?

That behaviour is usually a symptom of the console waiting for input, or someone clicked inside the console window and paused the application (due to Quick Edit).
 
Intersting. Im running it in a CLI version of ubuntu in a sceen instance. Possibly the screen instance playing havoc. I view these symptoms through an ssh terminal. My server however has 4 CPU's and 8gb's of ram so i dont think its a power issue. Its just funny tho since it only happens when my clients drop out then i try to log back in. I cant login so i check the server via SSH. screen -r to the instance, wait a few seconds and boom all the spam. And also on my desktop, the pending logins (verifying account) spring to the server list. Its kinda like logging into the ssh/screen instance releases or triggers it off.
