Hi all,

Just trying to get a sanity-check on this, as I've repeatedly hit a brick wall at various points along the process (with intermittent attempts over the past couple of years) -- is setting up an era-accurate, fully functional private/local T2A server just a fool's task? The farthest I've gotten (with an absurd amount of dedicated effort) was being able to successfully login, from both server local machine and a separate one over LAN, but interactions in the world were just not right, from no monster aggro to items not placeable in pack, etc.

Thanks for the quick response and guidance, Rutibex. I'll give that a shot, as at this point I am much more concerned with "functional" than "perfect" (era-100%-accurate)! Along these lines -- is there a client you'd recommend? May sound like a silly question, but I'm coming from being in the weeds/down a rabbit hole, trying to get a decrypted T2A client from an old installation disc image I've had laying for years around to work...

I would use ClassicUO. You will need to download a copy of the most up to date official client, then use this open source project with the files. Its much better than the official client, you can zoom in/out and resize the game window and everything. Much better framerate too:
