Hello Everyone,

Many of you who knew me hardly ever talked with me, but that’s okay. Today I was reading the forums and saw some really great ideas, so I thought I would share a few of mine. I will be expanding this thread as I think about all of the wonderful things I would have liked to see on a server of my own; all the while treking the foothills of West Virginia trying to avoid those blasted Scorched Beasts...

Let me begin with Action AI... yes I actually had a system started, not finished mind you, but started that would bring all of your NPCs to life. Each doing their prospective line of work and living their lives independent from your actions.

This requires a lot of DoAction subroutines that need to be coded into BaseCreature.cs and/ or Mobile.cs. The end result would be that your NPCs would interact with you and not just stand there waiting for the grace of your presence.

The basic premise is that resource collectors would collect their resources, through simulated action, and either sell them to players upon approach, or travel around from one city to the next dropping their goods off at hotspots.

Fishernen would fish
Miners would mine
Hunters would hunt
Lumberjacks would cut wood
Militias would engage in ambient battles on proximity of the player
Travellers would travel

Some NPCs
[doublepost=1548003098][/doublepost]ai.ytimg.com_vi_CEO5PWGT9kU_maxresdefault.jpgUltima Online is all about roleplay and as I was shooting down those trusty Brotherhood of Steel vertibirds it occured to me...

Wouldn't it be nice if a player, or automated, sheriff of a specific "account tag" or "accesslevel" were able to physically arrest anothet player or npc by binding them with rope or chain... it is qluite possible and something similar has been done on the official servers while trying to capture pirates.

This idea is a bit different though and requires maybe a new graphic apparel; both for paperdoll and in game. The idea would be to have the arresting player be able to force move another player in the direction they wish to proceed; eventually taking them to a city jail where they can serve their time or escape.

This would be an alternative to the bounty system, and nobody's head would need to be lopped off!! The legal system will once again redeem itself ;)

Its good ideas, gametac.

Here some to add.

Uo has really never had a good AI even close to good towns people AI make feel more alive. recently Red Dead 2 came out if you look they have great AI system in place.

Traveling npcs on wagons going from one direction to another. be nice to fill in some of them dirt roads.
Even running across a random spawned npc that needs help and then later on running across that same npc you helped and he remembers you, and helps you back.

I know with high seas they added pirate ships that sail the seas and attack you why not bandits that walk the roads to engage. I know UO is almost dead for most and UO Emus pretty much dead just ideas.

well just my two cents.

The idea of arresting is nice, like a sandboxie justice system, or cop like where good players can serve justice themselves by arresting criminals/pks.

Bad guys could have a chance of escape and breaking the chain if another player cast or use on them a special scroll of ''brute force/escapist''. So this creates a interesting player interaction.

If a most wanted player gets captured there should be a broadcast so good karma people can go escort and help the ''cops'' and evil ones go help the bad guy escape hahaha.

EDIT:

More ideas: If many evil players escape from arresting there should be aglobal penalty for everyone. So it encourges people to participate more

:p

I would like to see A hidden teleporter that moves to many different places, or the teleports you to any number(settable buy gm) of places.
say if you hit one it may send you to doom, or britain graveyard. and next time may send you to a town on another map.

This is doable with current tech.

You can accomplish it with very little programming if you lean on XMLSpawners a bit.

Hey gametec, I was wondering if you could give me a copy of Ultima Online Creator. I'm trying to create a facet based off of a bitmap like Dragon and Landscaper...
