Map Design questions

hey all,
Im looking for a few answers. Just started messing with UO again.

Question 1: What program is most used to create new map terrains?

Question 2. Can we still do this with the most current client? (ive seen conflicting reports)

Question 3: which version of CentrED is the most current and supported for after the map is designed?

Question 4: What programs are best for modding and why?

Question 5: what client is everyone using and why?

i appreciate any answers to these and or other info i may need as i pour back into the world of UO!
